The S16 series, the 2nd generation Aristo, released as a full model change of previous S14 series in August 1997. S16 series is used newly designed platform and it makes the ideal weight ratio of Front 53 : Rear 47. The same 2JZ=GTE engine as the Supra adopted VVT-i system and it strengthened its fame as the fastest sedan in Japan.
